This position is part of the LFO team focused on strategic decision support for the International Card Business. The LFO team is not only the steward of the P&L, but also creates data-driven insights that inform planning and forecasting, influence key strategic decisions and drive cross-functional outcomes. Areas of support include product constructs, pricing, investment optimization, new deals and partnerships, and new product launches, among others.

To be successful, the candidate will need to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple disciplines, including Finance, Marketing, Controllership, and Risk. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to prioritize effectively, a passion for the business, resourcefulness, and comfort working in dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical and financial decision support to Card Services Canada
  • Complete strategic and financial planning processes (e.g., Monthly Reviews, Variance Analysis, Annual Plan, Investment Optimization, and Long-Range Plan)
  • Query, curate & analyze large data sets (Cornerstone/SQL/Yellowbrick), and use data to substantiate and inform business strategy
  • Identify and create analysis that support business decisions to improve product economics and provide insights into the external environment
  • Transform data sets into compelling visuals that clearly articulate business drivers/KPIs and drive insights (i.e., Tableau dashboards and reports)
  • Deriving actionable business or financial insights and recommendations and communicating these in a clear and concise manner to internal partners
  • Taking ownership of projects from concept to launch and being able to execute
  • Collaborating with the broader Finance team (FP&A, Controllership, Treasury, Tax) as well as other business partners to advance the vision and strategy of the Finance team and the broader business

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance and/or an Accounting Designation
  • 3+ years relevant finance / business experience
  • Ability to break down complex ideas into clear and actionable messages
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (experience synthesizing and communicating complex concepts, opportunities, recommendations and strategy to Sr. Leadership)
  • Experience with SQL, Cornerstone Python / Hive / Yellowbrick) or a willingness to learn is a must
  • Experience with designing and building Tableau dashboards
  • Strong attention to detail; an analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
  • Ability to handle several tasks while maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to work with business partners to influence decisions and drive results
